Samsung FP-T5084 50″ Plasma HDTV review

I’ve had my Samsung FP-T5084 50″ Plasma HDTV for a couple of days now and I love it. I have a PS3 and a 1.3 HDMI cable and the picture is absolutely amazing. I watched a few movies in 1080p and I was blown away. The picture is lifelike, no pixilation or judder with the fast action scenes and the colors are amazing. One thing that had me scared to buy a plasma was images getting burned into the screen but this one comes with “Pixel Shift” which is supposed to help prevent that. It even has some built in programs to help get rid of the burn-in if it does every happen but one of the tech guys at a local electronics store said these new plasmas would take a few hours of no movement for the picture to get burnt in.

He also told me there is no break-in time like on the older plasmas where you have to be extra careful. I’m going to be extra careful with it anyways because these things aren’t cheap but it’s nice to see that technology has come along and the plasmas are a lot more durable now.
